Caneunon Cymraeg - Welsh Songs
The roots of composer Richard Francis are in Wales. His hometown of Ludlow is just outside Wales. It is therefore not surprising that he is attracted to the wealth of Welsh folk songs.
In the publication “Canenon Cymraeg” there are 7 songs from Wales, arranged for choir and piano. The choral parts are provided with both the English and the original Welsh words.
Of the 7 songs, one is composed for woman voices (SSA), and another is for a men voices (TBB). The composer has given the other 5 songs, which are for a mixed choir, a versatile musical character, varying from passages in unison to parts with many doubles, from intimate, sonorous sounds to an elated atmosphere. Each song is available separately.

The Gospel of Mary
An oratorio for soprano, tenor, voices, mixed choir and ensemble.
This work is based on a 2nd century text, in which Mary Magdalene, follower and confidante of Jesus, reveals the teachings of the Saviour to the disciples. Instead of a sinner she turns out to be the most initiated.In 1896 the text was discovered in Cairo. Unfortunately about half of the original text has been lost.Theologian, poet and author Maria de Groot, has however restored the text in 1996. The complete text of the Gospel is fairly long and not evenly accessible. The author andcomposer have therefore selected part of the text for this oratorio, which makes it more accessible without effecting the content.
